Humboldt Council of the Blind

ABOUT THE COUNCIL

The Humboldt Council of the Blind HCB is a consumer based group of blind and sighted people. The purpose of the Council is to gain full independence and equality of opportunity for all blind and visually impaired Californians in Humboldt county. HCB works closely with the California Council of the Blind CCB in legislative advocacy. HCB is an all volunteer member organization. Please join us in our advocacy and educational work.

Anyone who has an interest in the welfare of the visually impaired community can apply for membership. You do not need to be blind to join!

Meetings are usually held on the third Friday of the month, at 2:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Humboldt Water Department District building at the southwest corner of 7th and J Streets, Eureka. We usually take a few months off during the summer and holiday season. To find out if the council is meeting call 707-839-7266.    If you are visually impaired, please call Don Bollinger, (707) 839-3694, to arrange transportation.
