How to Use HumGuide
We have tried to make using HumGuide relatively easy. Given the breadth
and depth of the site this has not been a simple task. However, once
you become familiar with the navigation tools, we think you will discover
that getting around the site and finding what you need quite easy.
The Menu system at
the top of every page will get you everywhere you need to go. We've
also placed the search box just below the menu. Try using simple phrases or one word search terms.
In the center of the page above the main category table is a little
path that indicates where you are, and the sections above your location
to get back home. For example, if you browsed your way to the History
and Genealogy category, you would see, at the top of the list of sites:
HumGuide/Communities/History and Genealogy. This means you are in the
History and Genealogy category, which is a sub-category, of Communities,
and HumGuide is the link to the home page.
We encourage you to join HumGuide. To do so, simply click on
the 'Register' link right under 'Directory' Menu item on the left hand side of each page. If
you join HumGuide you will find you have access to some additional
features such as the ability to post Classifieds
and more. Plus you will be able to manage those posts from a single
log in. We've just added the feature to allow you to login only once and you will remain logged in if you return to the site using the same browser. More personalized features will be added in the coming weeks.
Joining HumGuide is free and the form is brief. You will never receive
unsolicited email, and your personal information will not be shared with
anyone.
If you have joined HumGuide and you want to login to get access to your membership area, simply click on the 'Login' link or enter your username and password in the fields on the home page. We plan to add new features accessible in the your membership area.
