Who We Are

The Humboldt Council of the Blind is a 501c3 charitable group under the nonprofit status of the California Council of the Blind. The Council is a consumer based group of blind and sighted people whose purpose is to advocate for more opportunities for visually impaired people. Our local council helps serve the blind and visually impaired residents of Humboldt County, California (North coast.) Tax deductible donations can be made to Humboldt Council of the blind, PO Box 175, Eureka, CA 95502.

Your donations assist in providing various support such as resource information through the council's telephone resource line at: 707-839-0588, public education on how to live independetly with visual impairments, and advocacy for improved safety.

MEETING TIMES AND CONTACT INFO

If the council meets it is usually the third Friday of the month, 2:30 p.m., 828 Seventh Street, Eureka, Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District Office conference room.

Message About Descriptive Video From President James

don't be left out get your copy of the music CD “Making Blindness Fashionable”  A compilation cd of 22 bands(20 from Humboldt) All proceeds will help fund descriptive video and closed captioning for a local movie theater. Cost is only $10.
