Who We Are

The Humboldt Council of the Blind is a 501c3 charitable group under the nonprofit status of the California Council of the Blind . As a CCB affiliate the council acts as a consumer based group of blind and sighted people whose purpose is to advocate for more opportunities for visually impaired people. Our local council helps serve the blind and visually impaired residents of Humboldt County, California (North coast.) Tax deductible donations can be made to Humboldt Council of the Blind, PO Box 175, Eureka, CA 95502.

Your donations assist in providing various support such as resource information through the council's telephone resource line at: 707-839-0588, public education on how to live independetly with visual impairments, and advocacy for improved safety.

Meeting Times

The council usually meets the third Friday of the month, at 1:30 p.m., in the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District Office's conference room, located at 828 Seventh Street, Eureka, CA.

The Humboldt council of the blind thanks the Humboldt Cider Works Company 517 F St. Eureka. for giving us Ten percent of cider sales that help our efforts to advocate for medication safety through accessible prescription labeling. Purchase a Rockin' Music CD

Don't be left out get your copy of the music CD “Making Blindness Fashionable.”  A compilation cd of 22 bands(20 from Humboldt) put together by our very own former President James Forbes. All proceeds will go to the Humboldt Council of the Blind. Cost is only $10.
