Bus Trips
Join us for our second trip this summer to Steelhead Lodge at Klamath Glen! This trip will include a leisurely stop at Trees of Mystery for travelers to have the chance to ride the fabulous "Sky Trail" gondolas. There is a shuttle car to take you to the lower platform of the Sky Trail and back, so even if you are not up to the 20-minute hike up the Trees of Mystery Trail, you still have the chance to ride the gondola and glide over the treetops to a breathtaking view at the summit (where they have a large viewing deck, telescope, benches and a restroom). Come in to get your sign up form.
We are planning a trip to Monterey for Oct. 15-17, Tuesday through Thursday. The reservations and budget haven't been completed yet, but start saving now and we'll let you know how much it will be as soon as we have all the information and can issue sign-up forms.
Keeping you safe Good Things to Have in an Emergency *Our flashing emergency beacon light bulbs help emergency vehicles find your home much more quickly after 911 has been called. *Our Safety Whistle (very loud!) could help summon assistance in public, or even in your own backyard. Please come to the Senior Services office (where Dial-A-Ride tickets are sold) or call 443-9747 ext. 240 for more information or to purchase an emergency beacon bulb or whistle at special low prices. The emergency light bulb program is made possible through the Eureka Police Department and the Senior Citizens Foundation.
Looking toward October Jewelry Sale Our long-awaited second Jewelry Sale will be held in the third floor Conference Room Wednesday, Oct. 23rd, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Please, seniors and staff, go through your old jewelry boxes and dresser drawers and bring us some things for our next sale-even broken pieces and loose stones are purchased by people who make jewelry! The Activities Department will be glad to give you a receipt for your donations for tax purposes. Also, if you know any jewelry makers who would like to participate (no booth fee, but giving 10 percent to the Activities Dept.), please have them call Susan at 443-9747 ext. 228. Thanks!
