Prevent, assist with osteoporosis

Strength Training Resources for Osteoporosis - Northcoast Group (STRONG) offers numerous ongoing exercise classes for seniors in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. STRONG classes focus on building bones, improving balance and flexibility and reducing the incidence of falls. Fun is a fitness factor, too. "I'm back working side-by-side with my husband," says long-time participant Ruth Davison of Hydesville.

Many of the classes are familiar to seniors who have attended them for years - Oh Them Bones, Osteo-X, Exercise with Thea and June Davis' adult ed classes. Here is a current list of the ongoing classes. More info: Julie Sessa, 707-442-3763.
