No longer drive? How to get around without a car in Humboldt County

by Chris Martinek

The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is pleased to announce the completion of the AAA Advisory Council Transportation Committee's brochure, "No longer drive? How to get around in Humboldt County without a car." The brochure lists available transportation resources, the cost of driving a car and costs of public transportation options.

The brochure will be distributed around the county where seniors or adults with disabilities are likely to be. Pick up your copy of the brochure at your local senior center or contact Senior Information and Assistance 707-442-9591 or call toll free, 800-408-4636. The web site is www.a1aa.org/node/view/62 and select "Transportation Brochure."

The Area Agency Advisory Council Transportation Committee is comprised of AAA advisory council members Thea Gast, chairwoman; Mary Dennison and Mary LoMiglio; and community members Lois Willson, Howard Willson and Wayne Wood. The agency would like to express appreciation for the time and effort put forth by the committee to create the transportation brochure.

Chris Martinek is planner for the Area Agency on Aging.
