Experience Works replaces AARP
Experience Works' Senior Community Service Employment Program is up and running in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Replacing AARP's senior employment services after a change in funding by Department of Labor, Experience Works offers part-time paid training and employment assistance to low-income individuals 55 and older. "We're very excited to be partnering with other local agencies, businesses and seniors to make a difference in the North Coast communities," said Butch Barker, employment coordinator. "We are the oldest Senior Community Service Employment Program in the nation and are proud of our 41-year track record." An office has been set up in Eureka in partnership with the Employment Development Dept. at 409 K St. Anne Franklin of Experience Works can be reached at 707-445-6271 or toll-free 800-288-1324.
