Try out STAR auditions set May 6,7

Ferndale Repertory Theatre and STAR (Senior Theatre Acting Repertory) will hold auditions for Taking My Turn, a musical that is a series of vignettes on aging by people in their prime. Auditions will be held Sunday, May 6, 2-4 p.m and Monday, May 7, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Humboldt Senior Resource Center's first floor activity room, 1910 California St., Eureka.

Director Denise Ryles is seeking men and women ages 55-plus. This is the debut of a new ongoing program at the Ferndale Rep for seniors, by seniors. In addition to actors, the production also needs designers, a pianist, stage manager and backstage help.

Come prepared to read from the script, sing and move. Headshots or monologues are appreciated but not required.

Production dates will be July 13-15 at the Ferndale Rep, July 29 at Garberville Theater. A July 22 location is yet to be determined. The July 13 performance will be at 8 p.m, and the rest will be 2 p.m. matinees.
