New CSL members announced

Mary Dennison and Howard Rien will be the new members of the California Senior Legislature, taking office at the CSL's annual session in October.

Senior Senator Dennison, a registered nurse, is vice president of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Advisory Council, cofounder of the Community Health Advocacy Program (CHAP) and chair of the Eureka Health Committee. She served previously as a senior assembly member.

Senior Assembly Member Rien is a member of the AAA Advisory Council, a board member of the Senior Citizens Foundation, affiliated with the Humboldt Taxpayers League and Navy League and is a former member of the countyıs Grand Jury. Rien served as assembly member for the past two years.

The CSL is made up of 120 members who meet annually in Sacramento to identify priority senior concerns, to develop proposals that respond to those concerns and to advocate for their inclusion in legislative proposals.
